Brenda Lynn founded her fashion design and manufacturing company in New York City in 1993. She began with hand-crafted felt hats that are still a brand signature. Over the years, she added a variety of other materials, such as the newsboy cap in both leather and cloth that was a “must-have” in the late 1990’s, and her super-soft knit hats, made from her own hand-crafted signature wool yarns.
The move into knit hats led to a line of knitted accessories, including ponchos, shawls, and capes, beginning in 2002. She sees her millinery line as a "Hat Wardrobe" for the modern woman, with an emphasis on casual luxury and American style.
Spun at several of America’s finest mills, the company’s yarns are designed personally by Ms. Lynn, and are unavailable from any other designer or manufacturer. Her signature mélange yarns are blended from up to four different colors creating a heathery color palette. The special spinning process yields wool with an exceptionally soft hand and depth of color.
Brenda Lynn products are now available at over 100 stores in the U.S. and Japan. The firm relocated to Fairfield, Connecticut in 2003
